I need help please my room ?

I live in a small townhouse. My living room is very low with an "L" flowing in my dining area … my sofa and love seat are both in a sage green up "V" in front of my stand Entertainment and windows. I have 2 end tables on either side of the booth entertainment. I have a darker gray / brown color of the walls. My curtains are pure black, and my carpet is beige cream, and my furniture (entertainment stand, and end tables) are all dark wood hard. I did not play inspiration for this piece, and my accessories are mostly just black … just threw the room. I want there to be a kind of style … or else put it all together because it feels like its missing something. I need some ideas for accent colors, or different curtains Mabie ??… It is the main room of my house, and I want to be proud of him. Do I have too much, or can it work? Im for some changes, Please help! ps I do not have a digital camera, so I can put pictures on the web. thanks

It is hard to tell without a photo, but it seems dull, and tone. You could change the curtains curtains to match the beige carpet and leave a little light to illuminate the space. You can try a dynamic new color (or two) in a few scattered accessories. Take a cushion cover and go in a store that has contemporary pottery, pillows, wall prints, etc. In my area, Pier One, Pottery Barn, Walmart even all the accessories that are colorful. Begin by selecting a large piece, perhaps a colorful print. Next, select colors to use as accent pieces. A pottery bowl filled with fruit, some printed throw pillows (there are some really nice round these days) candlesticks and other items. Do not overcook "Matchy-Matchy. Just go for a pleasant blend with color contact, perhaps eggplant, mustard and turquoise, you be the judge. You probably will not spend much, you can therefore change the pattern of the next season or add new objects. Good luck.
